Most sedating antihistamine

Prescription antihistamines, my preference is hydroxyzine. Hydroxyzine is very easy to obtain a prescription for, as it is a non-abusable alternative to prescription anxiolytics that doc's are often reluctant to script (benzodiazepines in particular).
I agree that benadryl/diphenhydramine is probably the most sedating antihistamine OTC, followed by doxylamine and dimenhydrinate.
The people who were intoxicated drove as though they were.
And the people who took Benadryl looked normal, but drove like the drunks," says Steven H.
And there is no evidence, Bender says, that either type is better at suppressing histamine, which causes allergic reactions.
First generation antihistamines (FGA) medications are classified as "potentially inappropriate" for use in older adults.
This is a multi-year cross-sectional observational study including data from the United States National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (2006-2015), collected from the physicians on a sample of patient visits to non-federally employed office-based physicians.
Visits by patients aged 18 or older were included in the study: 15,243 dermatology office visits, and 66,036 PCP visits. Available data suggest that bilastine interferes neither with driving ability nor with flying-related performance.
However, no data are available on the effect of bilastine on the driving ability in extreme conditions.
The widespread belief that sleep is aided by the addition of a sedating first-generation H1 -antihistamine, usually hydroxyzine, at night is not supported.
