Validating multiple checkboxes using javascript

Just learning the ropes of validation - I've got a web form with two separate check box lists that require a check box to be selected in each and I can validate that with via the client or the server without too much hassle. My problem is I want to remove redundancy and not be calling multiple methods or functions to do essentially the same task.. How to pass own arguments to Client Validation Function when using Custom Validator By Default Custom Validation Function property in customvalidator control dont allow you to pass the control id to your javascript function.Hi, I have a form that contains multiple groups of checkboxes that act like radio buttons (at the clients insistance). There is one text field that is required and 28 checkbox groups.

Validating form input with Java Script is easy to do and can save a lot of unnecessary calls to the server. It can prevent people from leaving fields blank, from entering too little or too much or from using invalid characters.User-submitted data should also be verified using a secure server-side script. To find out which value (if any) has been selected, you need to loop through the array until you find which one has been selected: defines a locally scoped variable.

If you're working with arrays of checkboxes to submit data to a server-side script then you might already have some grey hairs from trying to figure out how to validate the input using Java Script.

In more complicated forms you will want to set conditions on the form that combine multiple elements.
